Small groups are one of the vital ways we stay connected at OVCN. In the context of relationships found in small informal gatherings of friends we are given encouragement for our faith, practical help in life, and the opportunity to live out God’s purposes as we care for one another. In short, our groups are relationally oriented because we believe something uniquely life changing happens when we live out our core values in intentional community with one another.

Life Groups commonly meet during the first and third weeks of the month. They use curriculum that fits the unique needs and interests of their group with a common objective to develop and live out relationships that are life changing. Some use topical materials others focus on books of the Bible. Most groups run in the spring between February and June and in the fall between September and November. Study Groups gather at least every other week using a specified curriculum that facilitates their growth in living out our core values through relationships in the group, our congregation, larger community. Fellowship Groups meet about once a month for a meal or an outing with a focus on fellowship and prayer. Their goal is to build and maintain relationships that will help each one feel a connectedness with their group and in their place within the larger congregation.

Small Group Thrust: Periodically we utilize a small group thrust in which we intentional focus the entire congreation and all groups on a particualar theme. These thrusts unify our congregation and frequently give people who have never experienced groups another opportunity get a flavor for group life and Christian community.

We believe everyone should be connected in a small group where they can experience the power of life changing relationships.
